background:

Stephen started out designing, prototyping and programming
embedded microcontroller systems (in the days before
Internet).
About ten years ago he stumbled across UNIX, C and the
Internet.
Since then, he has made major contributions to various
ongoing projects (most notably ircd, ircII, gcc, sendmail,
glibc, Linux-kernel, xbattle, xpilot and squid).
Stephen is the author of the Procmail and SmartList
packages, and also of Cucipop.
Current projects tend to present themselves in the form
of an urgent need that needs to be filled (management by
crisis).

interests:

- Kung-Fu
-
In the little spare time that is left, something
to good for relieving tension.
- xbattle
-
There is nothing more stressful than a competitive
game of xbattle (but, due to the abundance of stress
in his current daily schedule and the lack of spare
time; this hasn't gotten much attention lately).
Nevertheless, it was fun (and I think it still is).
